Can anyone drive my car? Will I be covered if they are in a car accident?

At the Columbus Insurance Market we get a lot of insurance coverage questions. In our blog we like to answer some of the most common questions that come into our Ohio insurance agency. One of the most common question customers ask is, can anyone drive my car? Would I be covered if someone had and accident while driving my car?  These are common concerns for most Ohio drivers.  The answer to this question is not difficult.  In Ohio the insurance follows the vehicle, not the driver.  So if you let someone borrow your car and they get into a car accident they should be covered under the car insurance policy of that vehicle.

There can be some exclusions to this. So you want to make sure you check with your agent to make sure you are covered. As a responsible insured, make sure you disclose all household members that live with you to your insurance agent.
